Data Protection and Privacy

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) came into direct legal effect in all EU member states, including Ireland, on 25 May 2018 while the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (“NDPR”) came into effect in January 2019.

Our managing partner is currently undergoing the CIPP/E certification (Certified International Privacy Professional – Europe) and obtaining the Data Protection Compliance Organisation licence form the National Information and Technology Agency (“NITDA”).

The issues that can raise from the penalties for non-compliance of Data Protection and Privacy are becoming increasingly severe. We offer data protection compliance, enforcement issues and advisory services in data protection and privacy, these include applying for and defending privacy injunctions, data security, consent issues, data controller/processor issues, and data subject access requests etc.

In addition, we draft and advise on privacy policies, data collection processes, data management policies, data sharing agreements and international data transfer agreements.
