Profile

Yimika is the founder and Managing Partner of Nouvelle Legal.

Yimika is a dual licensed lawyer (Nigeria and Canada). She has a master’s degree in general commercial law. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canada. In addition, she is a certified governance practitioner with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) with International Association of Privacy Practitioners (IAPP). Yimika has over 18 years’ experience working as a lawyer in the above areas of law.

In Nigeria, her areas of practice include data protection and privacy, corporate governance, legal advisory, regulatory compliance and immigration. Her other areas of practice include Dispute Resolution and Real Estate.

Yimika has handled various corporate finance transactions including structured management buy-out of a parent company, Debt to Equity Conversion, 50 Billion Naira Bond Issuance Programme, legal advisory services in respect of outdoor advertising services and Advisory services in respect of private equity investment in a Nigerian Company.

She was formerly the Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Lagos State Chapter 2020 - 2022. She is also a member of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria.

Yimika provides legal advisory services for regulatory compliance for organization in data protection, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance etc. She also provides Board evaluation and Company Secretarial services for several companies.

Under the Canadian legal system, Yimika practices in the area of immigration law, Family Law, Child Welfare, Criminal Law and Privacy. She has handled several immigration matters including immigration to Canada using the express entry online system, appeal on refusal of visas, refugee claims, judicial reviews, and successfully argued clients’ cases before the Provincial court and Court of Queen’s Bench on matrimonial, child custody and child welfare matters in Canada.

Yimika works very hard for her clients and can quickly assess a file and give a client the "big picture" of what the client's options may be. Clients will also benefit from her keen eye for small, but important details. She has lots of experience in Court. However, her first option is to try to settle matters prior to proceeding to Court, thereby reducing her client’s exposure to litigation and costs.

Profile

Fade is a dual licensed lawyer in Nigeria and Canada. She practises in affiliation with Nouvelle Legal.

Prior to being called to bar in Alberta, she worked with the Maintenance & Enforcement Program (MEP) of the Alberta Ministry of Justice, providing increased access to justice in the area of child and spousal support. She also has a deep understanding of the Nigerian legal system where she practiced before relocating abroad in 2005.

Fade specializes in all aspects of Immigration Law (Including visas, refugee claims and judicial reviews). She also has deep knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Law, Child Welfare Law, of which she has successfully represented clients.

'Sope Ketiku Data Analyst

Sope is a qualified architect with a Master degree in Computer Science from the University of Salford, UK. His experience in the field of information technology spans 18 years from Tara Systems Ltd., Lagos to RentalResult, an enterprise software company based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK where he was involved in the quality assurance within the software development team.

He founded Collaboration Integrated Systems Ltd. a knowledge management company with partners from the UK. Collaboration Integrated Systems Ltd. are the exclusive partners in Nigeria of Intuition, a leading global knowledge solutions company. They are involved in several software development projects in Nigeria. Some of his clients include the Central Bank of Nigeria, Polaris Bank, NIIT and Access Bank.

Sope’s experience include elearning platforms and training content. He has collaborated with various subject matter experts to create training content across various subjects such as, digital transformation, business soft skills and data protection.
